David has been at the Paignton site for 37 years.
In that time David has had a rich and varied career in hairdressing with David being permanently employed by London Weekend Television for three years and working on many of the Royal Variety Performance shows.
After hairdressing, his main love is performing in and directing musicals.
Cerys is the baby of the family, she has just started her first year apprenticeship.
It has been really nice to see her confidence grow daily – Cery’s mother used to work for David many years ago!
Abbie is just starting her second year and is a very happy and motivated employee.
She always gives 100% energy and enthusiasm when in the salon.
Angie has been an important part of the team for well over ten years and is usually the first and the last person you see on your visit to the salon.
She’s perfectly suited for her role as she has a real love of people and makes for a great welcome into the salon.
Angie remains very calm and customer focused no matter how much the phone rings or how crazy busy the salon gets.
Natasha is in her second year apprenticeship at the salon and is very conscientious when it comes to doing her job.
She has a love of fashion and a natural ability when it comes to hairdressing.
Julie has worked in the hairdressing Industry for 25 years and at David Youll Hair for 16 of those.
She would describe herself as an excellent all-rounder keeping up to date on new styles and techniques – she particularly loves to create bobs with texture and highlights.
Julie loves meeting new people and would describe herself as friendly, chatty and honest.
Whether you’ve got natural curls or salon-created waves, Julie is our expert and she wouldn’t be without Eufora Curl Shampoo and Conditioner.
Becky’s worked at David Youll hair for 25 years! – yes, quarter of a century!
When asked what she loves most about working here she says ‘getting out of the house away from my three daughters!’
Although you have to book well in advance for Becky she will delight you with her expertise in finding just the right style and colour that will flatter your features with lots of great listening and attention to detail.
A little known fact about Becky is she has an identical twin!
Libby walked into the salon four years ago to introduce herself and we immediately loved her and wanted her to be part of the team!
In that time she has quickly built up a large clientele, putting her great listening skills and calm, friendly personality to great use in consultations.
She loves to do bouncy blow-drys, balayage and wedding hair. She says she loves making people look and feel good about themselves and, judging by her reviews, the clients agree.
A little known fact about Libby is she’s a competent pianist.
It was over six years ago that Jay said she wanted a career change and asked us if we would train her to be a hairdresser. At the time she was a singer and dancer for an award-winning holiday resort!
She put all the discipline of her dancing career and outgoing personality into her new career and has never looked back!
Describing herself as friendly, positive and energetic, Jay couldn’t pick just one favourite service, so her top three are curly blow dry’s, balayage and graduated bobs.
Jay says she likes to make people feel more confident when they leave the salon.
You will still find Jay performing in musicals across The Bay.
Alex did her apprenticeship at David Youll’s ten years ago. She went away and we were lucky enough to have her back!
In the three years she’s been back with us she has built up a great following, firmly positioning herself as an excellent creative colourist and balayage expert.
Alex gets a lot of her inspiration from celebrity hairdressers and social media.
If she had to take one product to a desert island she wouldn’t be without Moroccanoil. She describes herself as ‘chunky but funky’!
Spencer joined us when he was just 14 and that was six years ago!
It has been lovely to see him grow and gain confidence over the years and turn into a great hairdresser!
Spencer is a great all rounder with a very busy column. He particularly likes doing short hair cuts and softer, flattering colours. Spencer also does most of our gents cutting in the salon.
Spencer is passionate about our Eufora product range and lists his three top products as Volume Fusion Spray, Powder Lift and Tame Frizz Control Spray.
Basia’s reputation preceded her – we kept hearing about this new hairdresser in college winning all these competitions and we made it our job to find her!
Luckily for us, Basia agreed to join the team and has never looked back.
In the last two years with David Youll Hair she has steadily grown her clientele. She loves to highlight and tone hair and enjoys making people feel good about themselves.
Basia describes herself as happy, positive and kind with a wicked sense of humour!
When asked which celebrity she would like to transform she said she’d like to update The Queen!
Alicia joined the team as an apprentice 18 months ago and her great sense of humour, energy and commitment secured her promotion to Graduate Stylist.
She says she loves the professionalism of the salon and learning new things every day from the stylists.
Alicia has great attention to detail and is keen to please her clients saying that she enjoys looking after people and making them feel relaxed.
A little known fact about Alicia is that she climbed Snowdonia in wedges – because that’s the sort of girl she is!
